Mixed Reality based Simulation Platform for Swarm Robotics
Final Year Research Project
This is my final-year research project: “A mixed reality-based simulation platform for Swarm Robotics”, developed at the Department of Computer Engineering, University of Peradeniya, and continued as the Pera-Swarm open-source project.
The main objective of the project is to implement a mixed reality-based simulator with an efficient and reliable architecture that allows both physical and virtual robots to collaboratively run swarm intelligence algorithms in real time. Virtual robots coexist and interact with real hardware robots in a shared arena, making it possible to study large-scale swarm behaviors without having to build dozens of physical robots.
Detailed documentation is available on the Pera-Swarm documentation site and the project page. Demonstrations of swarm experiments, including Color Ripple and Find the Red Cylinder, are available on YouTube.
